Our mission is to provide the greater Newburyport community with a diverse selection of certified organic, whole food & safe/clean home products.  We specialize in

• a wide variety of wheat-free, gluten-free & other foods designed for those with special dietary needs

The products you'll find at the Grocer reflect our belief in the importance of supporting organic farming methods, sustainable agriculture & ecologically sound land management through our buying practices.  We seek out companies who value & support their local economy & its workers through fair trade practices.  The products we as a community purchase DO make a difference in our local & global economies and directly affect the lives of those who grow & process what we consume.

Tips for Shopping at the Grocer

Credit Cards, specifically VISA, Master Card & debit cards, are accepted.  Personal checks are accepted for the amount of your purchase with a valid picture ID, matching check address & current phone number.  We do not accept starter checks without a printed name & address.

You can place a special order for any product we stock, as well as any product we can access through one of our distributors.  You will receive a 10% discount on any item ordered by the case & any vitamins or health and body care items ordered in quantities of six or more.  Just complete a special order form at the front counter & we'll call you when the item arrives.

We Want you to Like What you Buy

If you're not satisfied with a product's quality, we will refund the purchase price or give you a store credit.  Please bring the item back, with your receipt, within ten days of your purchase.

Parking Near the Grocer

We are located at the corner or Ashland & High Street, just across from the Global Gas Station (formerly Kelly's Mobil).  Ashland & High Streets have ample parking (High Street parking is on the Grocer side of the street only).  Just remember that we are in a busy residential area & give our neighbors plenty of room to enter & exit their driveways.  They'll greatly appreciate your courtesy.
